“Hello Carol
Thank you for your email....it is nice to know that you care
what your customers think! My answers to your questions follows:
1. I am very happy with my ironing board cover and it is holding
up to all my expectations. I was looking for one that did not
"move" when I needed to drag something big across the ironing
board because I am a quilter and iron lots of big quilts. My
Fitz like a glove cover is perfect.....it allows me to drag
quilts which ever direction I like to iron them and the cover
does not move a fraction...........wonderful.....saves lots of
frustration!!!!!!!!!!!
2. The thing that I like best about my Fitz Like a Glove ironing
board cover is that it does what it says it will do.....that is
...NOT MOVE, SLIP, BUCKLE, CREASE etc. it stays in place
perfectly.
3. I was very impressed by the prompt service in receiving my
order and the little extras you included...........I believe you
are a trustworthy organisation and can confidently recommend you
to my friends…..I do trust you…
Wishing you the best in you business. Merry Christmas and Happy

“Hi Carol,
That's fine about postage and packaging. No, it's not a gift for
Barbara. She's actually going to bring it to Ireland for me at
Christmas. It sounds a bit weird, it's a present for my
boyfriend. He has searched everywhere for a cover to fit his
ironing board but can't get one. He said if he was to only get
one thing for Christmas this is what he would want. (This sounds
very nerdy I know! He's normally mad as a hatter!). Anyway I
just went on Google looking for ironing board covers and yours
sounded great! I never thought I could learn so much about
anything so simple. He will be delighted with both me and the
cover! Thanks for the email, Kind Regards,”

“Carol,
I know that an email came from you some time ago and now I
can’t find it but….it seems to me that you had requested
information regarding our use of the brass bristle brush…..which
I do love. The only problem is that I can’t even find it when I
need it….it seems to ‘travel’ and not put back where it is
supposed to be kept! I have learned that there are some fabrics
that need to be brushed with caution but it is great on rugs and
the more hearty of fabrics…such as a hefty velvet or napped
fabrics as well as the rugs. Great invention especially for
those of us with long haired cats and sewers!
Hope all is well with you…I love seeing the photos of your
property on your website…looks like heaven! …Take care and all
the best. I sure hope that your sales are doing well ….I still
love my ironing board covers and the brush too…think of you
often as those items are in use! As always”

“Carol – My ironing board cover has arrived and is already
installed on my board. It fits perfectly! The ironing board was
my grandmother’s and has endured a series of ill-fitting covers
over the years since it’s quite old and clearly no longer of a
standard size. So, finding your cover that fits so well is a
real treat. As to how I found you, I went to Google, typed in
“ironing board cover” and I think first on the list was your
website. I found your story so appealing and your description of
the product so perfect that I couldn’t resist. Well, I resisted
a while because the cost of postage doubled the cost of the
product but in the end, I treated myself in honor of my Mom, as
I mentioned in my note. Just to complete the tale, I have
attached my Mom’s obit as it appeared in the Brisbane paper
recently. I think your story and company are wonderful and will
certainly recommend you to others.”

“Dear Carol,
Thank you for your email. We (ironing board cover, felt underlay
and me) are doing well. The underlay has lost a little bulk and
I have gained some.
The Fitz Like a Glove cover is still going strong despite the
bashing I give it. A lot of non-ironing gets dumped on it - it's
sort of a temporary desk space. I am ashamed of this, but
ironing boards are easy to move out of the way and are always
just the right height. In answer to your 4 questions:
1. Yes I am getting the wear I expected.
2. Shrinkage - the (5 years old) underfelt has shrunk a bit but
not as much as most do.
3. I like the personal touch & your obsession with quality
products & the fact that you are supporting people with
disabilities.

questions:
1. I most certainly am getting the wear from my Fitz Like a
Glove Ironing Board Cover. One of the best items I have ever
purchase - it is fabulous! I still have my original on the Board
which I purchased many, many years ago. I purchased one last
year for my daughter-in-law and she too seems very satisfied

2. I just love it because once put on the Board, it does not
move!
3.I have found the service you provide excellent and furthermore
your product is as good as you claim - which unfortunately is
not always the case in advertising these days.
4. I would have no problem in referring this product to friends

Thanks so much! My cover arrived on Monday and I put it on that
evening. I told my fellow sewers on Sunday at the Newborns In
Need work meeting that I had won second place in the Pattern

I was getting. Now that I have it, I can take the picture along

Thank you for supporting the Charity Sewing Contest, it's nice
to receive a reward for something I try to do on a regular
basis. Right now our group is working on putting together 300
Christmas totes to deliver to the hospitals in our area next
month. Each tote will include a receiving blanket, gown or
sleeper, hat, booties, burp cloth, toy, bracelet, onesie, and a
flannel stocking that can be a Christmas tree ornament. Some of
the items are sewn, most hats and the booties are knitted or
crocheted. We have a lot of volunteers working on getting these
items together! Thanks again!”

to the water in the atomiser. Always a good result. Cheers and

“Good evening,
I'm having a minor crisis here today - after threats of death to
my 6 year old if he opened the nail polish bottle… well, now my
beautiful ironing board cover (which I love) has a glittery
burgundy nail polish stain right in the middle. Have you any
suggestions aside from dabbing eternally with nail polish
remover (which is not working all that well)? I'm a bit worried
that leaving it still quite prominent and them ironing over it
might do something horrible to my clothes.
Regards,
Penny

This is a first!
First, take
your cover off the board so the nail polish doesn't penetrate
into your underlay. And definitely don't iron on the nail
polish. You'll just set it so it can't come out. Second, we need
to experiment here, so will get back to you tomorrow. Third,
don't kill your son. Childhood is about experimentation and
pushing the boundaries. Think back to your childhood. I'm on his
side. As a child, my parents wanted to kill me a gazillion
times, but once I reached adulthood, they were grateful they let
me live!!!!! You'll hear from us tomorrow.

Again To Penny On Sunday Morning
PENNY,
The only solvent that will remove nail polish from fabric is
acetone. All my nail polish removers contain acetone and one
also contains acetone and amyl acetate, another recommended
solvent for removing nail polish. Which is why I've never had a
problem removing nail polish from fabric.Your nail polish
remover is perhaps the safer and softer approach, acetone free
nail polish remover. You can purchase pure acetone in small
quantities from hardware stores and some chemists. It's handy
to have around the house, in a safe place, away from 6 year
olds, because it removes paint, varnish, lacquer, melted plastic
and adhesives from items. Here's the best way to approach this.
Please keep in mind it takes some time to remove the polish
because you can only do a little bit at a time, to prevent the
polish from smearing and spreading. First: If the polish is
quite hard, soften it first with a hair dryer. Second. Lay the
spot face down, on a hard surface, over a layer of paper towels.
Third: Working from the back, dab the acetone on IN SMALL DABS
with cotton wool. Change the cotton wool frequently to keep it
clean. You have to keep dabbing until the polish is completely
removed. Fourth: Once the polish has been removed, clean the
area with a small amount of methylated spirits. This works as an
antidote to the acetone. Like removing paint from brushes and
then washing them in soap and water. Fifth: Soak the cover
overnight in a laundry detergent solution and wash
the next day. I'm not sure if the Buttercup colour will stay in
with this approach, but as you're dabbing in a small area, it
will limit any discolouration from spreading. I use this
technique when I spill nail polish on fabric and it has always
worked for me. I just needed to check my bottle of nail polish
remover to see the ingredients and also check my gargantuan
library of stain remover books! The secret ingredient is the
solvent acetone. Penny, please let me know how you go. It's a
pleasure to be able to help you with this. Take care,
CAROL

From Penny on Sunday Evening
Thanks Carol,
Yes, the nail polish remover I grabbed in haste is one which is
acetone free, and hasn't been terribly successful. Hubby's at
the supermarket at the moment, and will hopefully get some with
acetone. Extra frustrating as we've temporarily moved house for
a few months and left lots of stuff behind at the "other" house,
including (of course) the acetone nail polish remover - after
all, why would I need it?
And yes, I won't kill my son, tempted as I am. My mother often
comments that she's glad she didn't kill my brother when he was
young - he's now very handy for reaching high things, lifting
heavy things, and fixing computers.
I'll let you know how I get on. It had gone through to the
underlay, but only barely - it's a slight discolouration on the
underlay, probably not enough to worry about, though I might try
a quick dab with the nail polish remover to see what happens.
Cheers,
Penny

From Penny On Thursday Morning
HI again Carol,
Just thought I'd update you on my progress - the acetone nail
polish remover worked much better than the other stuff, and had
the nail polish out in less than 10 minutes. I didn't have any
metho to hand (everything I need is always at the "other" house)
so I had to skip that step - also didn't use the hairdryer
because I don't even know where it is! I ended up soaking it for
nearly 24 hours, as we lost power for a while so I couldn't use
my machine (it never rains, it pours!). But in the end, it's
come up quite well - there's no nail polish colour left, just a
sort of pale grayish mark where the polish was, which is
probably only noticeable because I know it's there. There
doesn't appear to be any loss of the buttercup colour, phew.
Thanks for your help - it seems the acetone was indeed the magic
ingredient, despite what I'd read in my hasty search through
internet stain removal web pages!
Now next
time someone asks you in a panic, you'll know the answer
straight off! Cheers,” End of story: Fitz Like A Glove Disaster!

"we are
loving the laundry bag and the space on the floor where the
horrible laundry basket used to be.
I would like
to order 3 x ironing board covers please in buff or something
natural."

I thank you for your speedy reaction and am most pleased with
your service. The ironing board cover is excellent. I was
zipping around the house looking for things to iron tonight!!
Hubby will be trying out the shoe bag on his next business trip,
but it sure looks nice. Thanks so much and you certainly have a
happy customer here in Mitcham.

am
delighted, Fitz Like A Glove is a very apt title, it is the
best ironing board cover I have had."

"I got my
cover set this afternoon. It's all wonderful! I had
despaired of finding a cover for my slightly oversized board,
and the manufacturer (Polder) didn't have one. Your
cover truly "fits like a glove." I can't imagine how it could
be any better. Thanks so much for a superior product. (and
very quick delivery)."

"I already have one of your ironing board covers.
Have now bought a second one for a friend of
mine as a housewarming gift. He irons all of his shirts
and I am sure he will find it so much easier with your cover. I
have been delighted with mine"

“Wow! I can’t believe I get a whole new cover just because a
clip broke! Thank you so much! I might make the change to
Driftwood if that’s okay please! Sorry I’m a bit late and it’s
now Wednesday afternoon but next week will do. Again, thank you
so much. I love my Fitzlikeaglove! It’s the best cover I’ve
ever had and believe me I’ve been through quite a few in my 39
years of marriage! Cheers,”

“Hi Carol,
I am
thrilled with my cover and even more so with the felt underlay.
I can't believe how different it is to iron on a firm surface
rather than the foam underlay I had previously. Thank you
again. Kind regards

“An update from our place and another satisfied customer …Jude
fitted the ironing board cover this morning…talk about fitting
like a glove. Jude was so happy with the fit and the colour she
came and cuddled me while I was making a coffee. And if Jude’s
happy, I’m happy. Regards”

“Hi Carol,
Our new
ironing board cover has just arrived, and I had it set up and
tested within minutes. It's great and our vocabulary will
benefit greatly – no more words of profanity, only of
appreciation! Loved reading about the background to your
business - it's great to hear about work that brings personal
fulfillment as well as financial success. All the best,”

The
package arrived on Thursday: the cover it now fully installed
and operational and the shoe bags are winging their way to my

your wonderful products. Cheers”

“Dear
Carol,
The parcel has arrived - with all the delightful trimmings - and
of course the ironing board cover does what you say it does. I
haven't had one that fits properly for years - and I like my
wide ironing board. The log bag hasn't been tested yet, but it
looks pretty good. I do appreciate well-made, functional
items. More power to you - I am sure this is the best way to
undermine the big retailers' view that the only thing anyone is
interested in is the lowest possible price. How did I find
out? Back from another fruitless search, I simply put 'ironing
board covers' into Google Advanced Search - and up you came. I
already buy a number of things, like really good jam, on the
Internet and I'm increasingly searching for things the local
shops no longer have. I think I shall send one of your ironing
board covers to my friend in Boston - who unlike me, has a real
battle with anything to do with the laundry, but is herself an
architect who redesigns spaces to provide universal access.
Best wishes,”

“Dear
Carol,
It arrived
safely yesterday by courier, and is a wonderful colour. An
advertisement in itself. We really loved the piece of lavender,
and the great work you have done on your brochure. Thanks for
your great service.”

"I am amazed
and captivated by your detailed and specifically focused
response to my email. It's as though I've travelled back in time
to a period in history where doing business with dignity, fair
discussion and respect for every potential customer was the norm
rather than the exception. However, by today's standards I can
already see that you are the exception. How can I possibly pass
on the opportunity to order from such a dedicated professional?
I shall go online to order at once. I have every confidence I
shall be delighted with your product and your service.

"Hi Carol,
I really would
like to thank you Carol And Victor For the wonderful ironing
board cover I purchased from you. Your service was excellent
with speedy delivery. ...........You even took the time to phone
me, even though you knew I was severely hard of
hearing........and for that alone, I thank you.
I love the
ironing board cover and it really does make ironing less of a
hassle.
Thank you both
for your kindness and prompt service".

"Your parcel
arrived to my door at 7.30am this morning, great service from
Australia Post!........I had been trying to source a replacement
sunbeam ironing board cover for my sunbeam ironing board and I
was met with a great deal of disinterest from sunbeam stockists
and large department stores, I decided to do a little web search
and had the good fortune to come across your product.
This morning I
have a wonderful warm feeling about the product and the
purchase, one I haven't had from city shopping for a long time".
Maree NSW June 2006

Fitz Like A

In fact, after
I had received the package I opened it up in the office and
showed it to everyone I work with - hopefully there will be a
few orders coming your way as a result.
Thanks once
again for your excellent product - keep up the good work".

"I am writing to
you with great delight that I have at last found an ironing
board cover that does not wrinkle or come apart at the seams. I
am an 82 year old pensioner and have been looking for such a
thing for some time past. I do not know how long you have been
manufacturing such a product but it surely is a winner and
worthy of all accolades that have been settled on it".

"Dear Carol,
I recently
purchased ironing board covers for my mother and myself. As you
predicted we both think they are fantastic. I would like to say
that although the product is great, the service and presentation
of it and accompanying paperwork was wonderful. Having come from
a marketing and advertising background, it surprised me little
that you and your partner have had so much success. In this
busy, impersonal world we are accustomed to, it is so refreshing
to receive such personal and friendly service. Once again,
'thank you and congratulations' and I look forward to dealing
with you in the future".
