It’s a shame that we can’t talk to each other about your
interest in a shoe bag. So I’m going to have to do some surmising
here and you just nod your head when in agreement.
Let me know if this is right. There are a few places where
you use a shoe bag. In your luggage when you’re travelling. And at
home in your wardrobe. If you have any other places in mind, email
me. I really want to know those!
I’ll make one more presumption. You own and love wearing
good shoes.
Next, nod your head if this is right. Your main reason for
using a shoe bag is when you’re travelling. You don’t want to just
plonk your best shoes in your luggage, to create all sorts of
mayhem.
Mayhem, you ask? How can shoes create mayhem?
Let me enlighten you. Shoes are worn on the street. They
get dirty. You polish the leather and leave the soles to fend for
themselves. Correct?
Have you ever looked at the underside of the cuffs of your
trousers or your slacks or your dress jeans? What colour are they?
If you polish your shoes – and if you’re looking at shoe bags, I bet
you polish your shoes – they’re the colour of your shoe polish. Go
on, have a quick look.
Put those same shoes in your luggage, on their own, to do
as they please, while your luggage is tossed and turned at airports,
in and out of cars and in and out of hotels, and guess what happens?
Those shoes toss and turn with every tip and dip your luggage takes.
And when you go to put your Hugo Boss dress shirt on, or your
gorgeous Leona Edminston frock, you might just be a bit appalled at
seeing a smidgen of polish in just the wrong spot.
That’s mayhem.
And what about those Prada shoes you cherish? Or the Jimmy
Choos? I bet you want to make sure the heel of one shoe doesn’t
scuff the leather of the other.
Even worse, what if a metal object packed in your luggage
gets loose and really scars your best R M Williams boots forever, and they’re not able
to be rejuvenated?
That’s mayhem.
Now I know you’re going to tell me that you use a towel, or
your undies, or a plastic bag for your shoes. How gauche! That’s
like walking into the plush Park Hyatt Hotel at the Rocks in Sydney,
carrying your clothes in a plastic bag, and expecting the Concierge
to take you seriously.
I’m giving you the ‘Concierge Look Of Disapproval’ from
cyberspace.
In case you haven’t thought of it, another place for shoe
bags is in your wardrobe. A high powered consultant in Melbourne,
who travels frequently, saw a write up about our shoe bags in
Gourmet Traveller magazine. She purchased a shoe bag for every pair
of her Prada shoes. To keep them safe and secure in her wardrobe.
And she just pops the shoe bags into her luggage when ready to fly
to another appointment.
As with everything we design, the devil is in the detail.
But remember this. The Travel Bug Shoe Bag not only keeps your shoes
from spoiling your clothes in your luggage, but it also stops the
heel of one shoe from scuffing the leather of another. They foil
mayhem in your luggage. So keep reading.
How does it work?
1
Separate compartments for each shoe means they don't scuff against
each other. They arrive as well polished as when you packed them.
2
It has a fold down flap and ties that make it so easy to pack in
your luggage.
3
Soft, 100% natural cotton drill is a robust, durable fabric that
breathes and is easy to wash.
4
It comes in two classic colours, navy and putty. Now couples know
whose shoes are whose. And a smart logo on the flap means you travel
in style.
Tips for packing shoes.
Clean and polish your
shoes first. Who knows what's available at the other end. It's a
good idea to pack some rolled up socks or stockings into each shoe
so that they retain their shape. Our shoe bag is roomy, so it's
tempting to place a pair of shoes in each compartment. Avoid this as
the leather will scuff. One shoe per compartment is the rule. If
taking a few pairs, pack them in a row, at the bottom of your case.
Avoid the temptation of packing shoes on top of each other or
they'll get squashed out of shape. If you have laces take some
spares, they always break at the wrong time. If you intend to bring
back some Izzy Miakos, take an extra shoe bag.
At $25.00 each or
$45.00+p&h, per pair, you'll have a lifetime of care for your shoes.
