“Hi Carol and Victor
Thanks for your email and for designing and making a great product. Love the
ironing board cover and under felt. It’s top quality and couldn’t be happier with it.
I’m no ironing expert but it does make ironing an easier job. We
need more Australian businesses like yours!
Thanks again
Stephania”
We get notes and emails like this all the time and phone conversations with our customers tell us the same thing over and over. “We need more Australian business like yours”.
We know that they’re out there so we decided to do something about it and bring you some quality, Australian made stuff.
That’s what this page is all about.
Below you will find artisans, craft makers, services and products that are made in Australia and are Australian owned and run small businesses. The one thing that they have in common is that they, like us, believe in quality and service. When you go to their websites you will find not only interesting, high quality goods and services but also friendly, approachable people.
Please take the time to explore these websites and support Australian made.
We have no interest in any of these businesses. Nor do we charge them to be here or take a commission on sales. Our motivation is to introduce you to quality Australian products and services and to encourage you to buy Australian made.
If you would like to recommend an Australian Maker please contact me, Victor Pleshev, by phone on 02 63 588 511 or email me here.
Woolerina. Makers of fine wool clothing and accessories. Sharing warmth with the world.
Woolerina is a range of soft Australian Merino clothing for women, men, kids + babies.
Based at Forbes NSW, Woolerina works closely with Australian Merino producers Glenwood Merinos at Wellington NSW, to produce some of the most comfortable clothing you will ever wear.
The Merino fibre is renewable, sustainable and produced with complete respect for the environment. Ethical farming practices are used at Glenwood – sheep are un-mulesed and need nothing but grass and fresh water to produce an annual fleece.
Woolerina’s range of clothing is machine washable and with the unique natural attributes of Merino is an all-natural, breathable, trans-seasonal product. Woolerina is proudly licensed with the Australian Made logo and with Ethical Clothing Australia.
Our comment: Australian grown, beautifully styled and Australian made. Lovely people and so easy to deal with. What more can you ask for?

The Cakesnake – A storage rack for bakeware
People see it and exclaim, “what is that?” Five minutes later, they buy one. This is because the Cakesnake storage rack for bakeware is a great asset to every kitchen. It was invented by my husband Stephen when I grew increasingly frustrated with my messy bakeware cupboard. The Cakesnake sits inside a standard kitchen cupboard or deep drawer and neatly holds cookie sheets, baking trays, muffin tins, platters, chopping boards and cooling racks. They are then easily accessible, putting an end to ‘bakeware jenga.’ It is made of aluminum, making it light yet strong. We make them all ourselves, here in Sydney.
Elizabeth Procter – Cakesnake Mumpreneur
Our comment: Classically simple design makes an elegant storage solution. We know they’re good. We use them.

Annaig’s Gemstudio
Whether it is a large or little gemstone, very expensive or not, it doesn’t matter to me. They all deserve the same amount of care. Giving the right advice and considering all options for my clients is paramount to me. There is no point in taking something on board if I know it will not give the result my clients are after. I am very lucky to be able to use my passion for all gems in my daily work. For more information on the services I offer for all coloured gemstones, loose, set, or rough, please visit my website.
Our comment: We believe in the “second chance”. Especially for gems.

Procson Pulpits and Lecterns
Many years ago, someone asked me to design and make a church lectern. I did. Then another church wanted one too, then another. This started to happen a lot and slowly but surely, Procson Pulpits was established. We now make Australia’s biggest selling church lectern. Our best selling Arc lectern can be found in both modern and traditional churches all over the world, with us now exporting over 60% of what we make to America. We manufacture them in our mini factory in Sydney because we are obsessed with quality and keenly believe in supporting the Australian manufacturing industry.
Stephen Procter, Pulpit Specialist
Our comment: A simple idea refined to it’s pure state. “Less is more” has never been truer. How good are they? Well, you’ll find some discerning people behind the Procson Pulpits and they know a thing or two about quality.

Gwydir Grove Olive Oil & Olive Oil Products
The Gwydir Grove story started in Moree in North-West NSW in 1996.
Gwydir Grove has been providing award winning olive oils for the last 20 years. The Birch and Kirkby families from Moree in northern NSW started with a small batch press and produced only 35 litres in the first pressing. Now we supply many leading restaurants, delis and cafes Australia wide. We have expanded our range from one single extra virgin olive oil to several blends catering to customer’s requirements, which now include infused oils and the renowned agrumato oils.
Consistent production, attention to detail with processing, reliability and credibility has paid off with our products gaining recognition and awards in each show entered. Point of sale material and seasonal recipes are available for customers using our products.
The families involved in Gwydir Grove are proud to be involved with this flourishing Australian industry.
Our comment: Of course we love the olive oils. But it’s the other products made from their olives and oils which really stand out. Try the Agrumato. You won’t be sorry.

Sian Thomas Ceramics
My name is Sian Thomas and I’ve been a potter for 30 years.
My first passion was playing tea parties with my dolls. The tea sets were bone china and the interest remained with me.
So of course I chose to study ceramics to learn how to make a perfect teapot.
Later, setting up my own home, I was always looking for a butter dish, which would fit the butter. Not having any luck I realised that I would have to make my own. Since then I’ve created all kinds of kitchenware that is beautiful as well as functional. My everyday kitchen items are evocative of the post war era in their simple shapes, patterns and pastel glazes.
Our comment: We’re smitten with Sian’s work. Owning one piece is just not enough.

Lucy Watts Artwork
Original artworks, commissions, art cards & gifts
It’s easy to get swept away by the ever-changing beauty of rural Australia and the exciting challenge to capture it on canvas. Whether it be native birdlife, cattle or sheep grazing in the paddocks or the promise of an oncoming storm, our farm in Dunedoo provides an abundance of material for the creation of original artworks. Alongside commission paintings, exhibitions and matted images, a natural progression has been the development of the Lucy Watts Artwork card range. More recently, it has been a pleasure to work with Australian producers to create a uniquely all-Australian gift range, complete with packaging and ready to post.
Our comment: We hate to brag, but we’ve got one of Lucy’s paintings on our wall.

Davis Design Studio
A qualified Designer Goldsmith with a lifelong love of individual arts, I don’t buy into the “One size fits all” culture that means everyone is the same. I believe in the uniqueness of individuals; and I hand-make gold and silver Jewellery for my clients that reflects who they are.
I can be commissioned to design and make new Jewellery and restore Jewellery heirlooms; however my specialty, and what I love most, is to design and make new pieces for my clients by melting their old or inherited Jewellery into the new pieces. Apart from recycling, it’s a fabulous way of honoring loved ones by including something that once was theirs into a new sentimental piece, “Creating new memories from old”.
Our comment: We love this concept. Memories in a new wrapping.

Stone Pine Distillery Handcrafted Spirits
At Stone Pine Distillery we specialise in the production of premium handcrafted spirits and liqueurs, distilled and bottled in Bathurst since 2008. We have a particular fascination with Australian native ingredients, which are not only unique, but offer an amazing new array of flavours.
Our flagship Dry Gin epitomises this, containing Pink Finger Limes and Lemon Myrtle in the botanical mix. It was awarded a prestigious silver medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in London 2013, showing that a microdistillery from the bush can cut it with the big multi-nationals.
The latest addition to the Native Range is Dead Man’s Drop, inspired by Bathurst’s infamous bushrangers, the Ribbon Gang, who were hung for murder, bushranging and horse-thieving in 1830. It is a Black Spiced Rum with the native spices comprising Ringwood (Aniseed Tree) and Cinnamon Myrtle.
Our comment: These spirits are in a different universe to the mass produced variety. Carefully considered blends of unique flavors makes for a memorable drinking experience.

Food And Wine Travel
You know you’re a food and wine traveller when…
You want to choose your own schedule. You have no desire to visit ten countries in as many days and prefer to travel with like-minded companions to your choice of food inspired destinations that really allow you to experience your culinary passions.
You don’t just want to ‘tick off’ a destination. You’d rather have an authentic experience to connect, and gain a deeper understanding of a country, its cuisine and culture; visiting marketplaces, enjoying gourmet inspired excursions and meeting culinary leaders in their field of expertise.
You love spending your holiday wondering, “What’s for lunch?” (or dinner, or breakfast for that matter!)
Sound like you?
Our comment: Karen Ridge is the dynamo behind Food And Wine Travel. She’ll put together an itinerary that you can get your teeth into (literally) and it’s all hand made. Tailored to your specific desires. C’est magnifique.

Tea&Sympathy
For The Discerning Tea Drinker
I specialise in unblended single-estate teas from small scale gardens in China, Taiwan, Northern Thailand and Northern Vietnam. Just like wine, these unblended single origin teas offer a diversity of flavour characteristics that reflect all the elements of the terroir in that particular season.
When tasting and choosing teas for the range, my focus is quality and flavour, and I also like to introduce different and interesting teas. I choose the standard and calibre of tea that I expect to drink myself. Being a small online seller means that I am able to invest in the best quality product.
With these authentic asian teas I am able to provide a standard and breadth in tea that has not been available here in Australia either in stores or online.
Angelina Yannuccelli
Owner/Manager
Tea&Sympathy
Our Comment: We’re fascinated by the variety and quality. Every tea has a story and tasting notes. Since we found this site we’ve given up tea bags.
