Victor and I live in a rented house in Omeo, Victoria. A high country rural village. Population 406. Until our home at ‘Swifts Creek. Life At The Top Of The Mountain’. Population 278. +2! Is finished. I go for a walk at sunrise. Camera in tow. And no matter how often I tread the same path. There’s always something different to photograph in this charming hamlet of Omeo. I post one photo a day. ~Carol❤
Our rented house in Omeo is right behind the Anglican Church’s Op Shop. Which is my second home! I am a genuine Second Hand Rose. And can’t pass up a bargain on someone else’s beautiful vintage cast offs. ~Carol❤

A rare thunderstorm. In the midst of our drought. And bushfires. It hasn’t rained for weeks. Threw a flock of White Cockatoos into a frenzy. They screeched. And screamed. Dive bombed. Flew from tree to tree. And often landed upside down. I also think. They were enjoying a rare bath! Pure entertainment from Birdland. ~Carol❤

Early morning light filters its soft glow over Terry Petersen’s art gallery. Its billowing rose hedge welcomes visitors. Who step inside to view Terry’s landscapes of The High Country. ~Carol❤

Omeo Primary School is across the street from our rented house. There is no happier sound than to hear children whooping it up in the school yard at recess. The recess bell also tells us what time of day it is! ~Carol❤

Couriers connect Omeo to the outside world. Our nearest regional centre. Bairnsdale. Is 2 hours away. And. When there are ferocious bushfires. As there are now. And The Great Alpine Road is closed for 10 days. Or more. These couriers take the back routes.
Grinter Transport takes 4+ hours. One way. To make sure Omeo gets much needed supplies. Fresh food. Pharmacy medicines. Australia Post mail and parcels. We depend on them. And they don’t let us down. ~Carol❤

Omeo is awash with roses. These pink hybrid tea roses are just starting to unfurl their petals. The early morning light makes for a sensational photo. ~Carol❤
Foodworks in Omeo Victoria opens at 6:30am. At 6:32am. This sweet Kelpie cross is waiting for its owner to return. ~Carol❤

G'day from 'The High Country' in rural Victoria.
Thank you for visiting my website. I love that you're here.
Your participation in my rural business is a dream come true. One of the highlights of my life.
Whenever I visit a new website. I always want to know how much postage and handling is.
So upfront. Our flat rate postage and handling charge is $16.95 per parcel.
Regardless of how many items you put in your parcel. Or where you are located within Australia.
We live and work from our remote rural property in 'The High Country' of Victoria.
In the picturesque foothills of the Victorian Alps.
All parcels are despatched via Australia Post.
Our post office is in a remote location. So we post parcels once a week.
We hope you understand how the tyranny of distance affects a business that is in a remote, rural village.
For our international customers, please check with Customs in your country to see if they impose extra charges on your parcel once it enters your country.
For my UK customers. It's with regret that I will be unable to continue to post parcels to the UK. The new requirement from the UK is that VAT be collected by all online merchants when an order is placed. And paid to the UK before your parcel leaves Australia. As well as. Calculate the duties payable on your parcel. To be able to complete a customs declaration. Unfortunately. I'm too small a company to justify the infrastructure required to do this.
Every Thursday. From our rural alpine village. We post orders received by 3PM on Wednesday.
We then send you an email to let you know your parcel is on its way.
And we hope you love everything in your parcel. ~Carol❤
