Saturday is the day many people iron for the coming week. So this is more than 10 minutes at the ironing board.
Why not make it fun?
Sit. Instead of stand. Listen to CD’s. And sing along. Watch DVD’s. Football. Netflix. Get lost in the entertainment. Sip wine. Give it a go!! Ironing isn’t rocket science. And doesn’t need your undivided attention.
Let’s stretch this concept out.
How do you make ironing pleasurable? Sit on a comfortable chair. Mine is an adjustable swivel office chair from Aldi’s. No arms.
Listen to CD’s. Watch DVD’s. Watch TV. Soccer. Cricket. Football. Connect to Netflix. Watch that movie the rest of the family hates.
If it’s an hour or two or more of ironing, definitely imbibe some of the wonderful alcoholic grapes Australia has to offer. It really should be fun!
My solicitor. Who has ironed for his family since his children were born. Learned French while ironing. So he could ‘parlez-vous français’ when he went to see the World Cup in France all those years ago.

It’s Saturday. Not a work day. So. Indulge in some extracurricular wine tasting. Sip wine in between garments. Or rum & coke. And further enhance the ambience at your board. There are no breath tests required for ironing.
Allen. Of Wagga Wagga. Keeps a bottle of scotch in the pocket that his Fitz Like A Glove™ Ironing Board Cover was packed in. And which dangles underneath his board. He irons sitting down. While watching sport on Saturday. He swears a nip or two of scotch makes his ironing so much more pleasant!
On the other hand. Grace. Who lives in a high rise apartment building in Chicago, Illinois. USA. Tells me she’s a great opera fan. And sings along to the arias she plays on her CD player.
Roger. A successful businessman. Loves his Saturday ironing for the family. The ironing room is the only room in his house which none of his 6 children ever come into. It’s his equivalent of . . . peace. at. last. When great ideas strike. He writes them down in the notebook he keeps by his board.
