When a nurse comes to work, they’re expected to be prepared to give their all. To the patients in their care. And to the hospital that employs them.
But often. What happens in their personal life before they come to work. Affects their attitude when they arrive.
Sometimes life gets in the way of them being able to give their very best.
Some nurses are also mothers and fathers of young children. Who are demanding in their own way.
Lunches to make. School drop offs to do.
Tantrums. Or emotional meltdowns – which are different. Where children – or a partner – are spinning out of control. Have to be managed.
Some nurses are carers for elderly parents. Whose life needs to be organised before they leave for work.
Pills laid out. In their proper time order. Meals pre-prepared. And easily accessible. Their comforts for the day attended to.
The truth is many nurses are juggling 3 to 4 lives. Parenthood. Partnerships. Career men and women. And carers for relatives.
As well as. The emotional strain that comes with caring for very sick patients.
Add to that the extra burden of how they look when they come to work.
They can’t arrive for work in a rumpled uniform.
They must be washed.
And crisply ironed.
And far too many nurses struggle with their ironing board cover. Trying to keep it wrinkle free. And holding it in place with one hand. While they iron with the other.
They have too many other distractions in their life. They don’t need to unnecessarily add one more.
When a nurse irons their uniform, their expectation is that it will be quick.
Easy.
And tantrum free.
But far too often, with many ironing board covers, the experience is different. The cover doesn’t fit properly because it’s too short. And too narrow.
The rubber tape around the edges perishes quickly. And in no time. A nurse is ironing on a pair of baggy underpants.
So the cover wrinkles. Rides up. And slips off their board.
Every. Time. They. Iron.
And that’s annoying. Irritating.
And is a useless waste of their time.
We all spend time trying to find solutions to reduce the stress we endure in our life on a daily basis.
I wish I could solve all the stresses a nurse endures. Because they deserve it.
Without them. Patients would be adrift. They are the calmest people in the ward. Reassuring. Patient. With authority. And often the first people quickly on hand when there’s an unexpected emergency.
But I can solve the stressful issue of what they iron their uniforms on before they come to work.
My partner, Victor Pleshev, is the architect who, in 1994, designed the Fitz Like A Glove Ironing Board Cover for his mother. To help her with her ironing when she was recovering from a stroke.
It was never meant to be a business.
But the Fitz Like A Glove Ironing Board Cover now has close to 400,000 customers.
In 29 countries.
And is made in rural Australia by men and women who have a disability.
I have a significant number of nurses on my database. Who love this cover because it makes ironing easy. Quick. And tantrum free.
It fits every board ‘like a glove’.
Never moves. For any reason.
And it meant to last for a very long time. Not months. But years.
It comes with a ‘Twelve Month Wear And Tear Guarantee’. And a no questions asked complete refund if it doesn’t meet expectations. It really is a dream cover to iron on.
Good ironing board covers are hard to find. And they’re rarely found in retail stores today.
So people ask their friends. Relatives. Workmates.
Do you know where I can find a good ironing board cover?
35% of my orders every year are referrals.
Because the best ironing board covers are now only found online.
Which is why I’m an online business only.
And strongly believe that the Fitz Like A Glove™ Ironing Board Cover is a perfect solution to the ironing board cover woes of nurses.
If you know a nurse. Share this post with them.
Because.
Even the slightest reduction in stress before a nurse comes to work is worth our efforts to reach them.
