Hi Carol,
Isn’t that interesting – the advice you were given from the marketing department at Charles Sturt University all those years ago [ to be corporate and edgy. Not warm and friendly. And to make everything in China rather than in rural Australia ]. You must look back at that advice with a wry smile and a lot of pride in what you have both achieved [ by not following that advice ].
I don’t have any business or marketing experience, but personally I think that people are prepared to pay more for a quality product that is made in Australia, in particular in rural Australia as well as by disabled men and women.
Actually I don’t know how the cost of your Fitz Like A Glove™ Ironing Board Cover compares to your competitors, but I only say about paying a bit more, because of the original advice you were given about having the products made in China was no doubt said because it would reduce your costs.
I think it is great that you both decided to stick to your guns and establish and grow the business on your terms.
Yours and Victor’s story is a very interesting one and I just wondered whether you had thought about being on a program like Australian Story on the ABC or something similar? I think they would jump at the chance to tell your story.
…
Even if you were not looking to grow the [ Fitz Like A Glove™ Ironing Board Cover And Other Goodies ] business, it would be something nice to have to look back on. Just a thought. I would be happy to contact the program myself.
Anyway I won’t take up anymore of your time. I will let you get back to your other 349,999 customers 🙂

Feedback is the lifeblood of every business. Without it, there’s no direction to follow. Positive feedback is the best of all. When you receive it, you just know you’re on the right path.
