Success. Failure. Struggle. In business. I’ve walked that walk! And built a worldwide business from broke.
Life Behind The Scenes With The Ironing Diva "center">
The Fitz Like A Glove™ Ironing Board Cover And Other Goodies is the hook I hang my business hat on. This accidental, rural business, is a dream come true. One of the highlights of my life. This is my journey through the roller coaster world of business. And the choices I make in how to run my dream of a lifetime.

Business Is A Tough Gig. Being Obsessed Gets Me Everywhere.
Some of the greatest minds in history were obsessed. Albert Einstein. Henry Ford. Steve Jobs. Bill Gates. Mary Kay. Marie Curie. Eleanor Roosevelt.
Some people think being obsessed is an affliction.
Others. Like me. Think being obsessed is the way forward.
It depends on what you want to achieve in life.
In school, I was an honour student. Mainly A’s. The occasional B. But never anything like the almost F I received in Home Economics because I couldn’t learn how to sew.
The principal of the school lobbied for a D. And that’s what I got.
When I graduated from high school, I graduated 2nd in my class. And was in the top 5% percentile in all of America. Where I was born. And grew up. I was accepted into every university where I applied for admission.
But I couldn’t get the knack of sewing.
Even though my mother was a couture dressmaker in New York City. Before she married my father. And became a wife and mother.
I obsessed about learning how to sew.
And from the age of 12 onwards. I read everything I could about . . . how to sew.
I took books home from the library to study sewing and dressmaking techniques. And became highly skilled in tailoring. Making lingerie. Furniture slipcovers. Drapes. Lamp shades. Men’s tailored shirts. Overcoats. You name it. I made it.
And I sewed for everyone in my family. Me. My sister. My father. Even my mother.
From getting a D in sewing. I became the ‘go to’ girl at school for everything there was to know about sewing.
I still obsess about things.
Me and my partner, Victor Pleshev, the architect who designed the Fitz Like A Glove™ Ironing Board Cover for his mother. Developed a world class hectare of garden around our farmhouse. On the side of a hill. In poor soil. On our 54 hectare remote rural property in the picturesque Central Tablelands of NSW. Australia.
Which, as the Dept of Primary Industry told me when I enquired about gardening in my rural patch, had nothing going for it. They also told me, 23 years ago, that there was only one successful country garden in my village.
Now there are two.
I unashamedly obsess about running my worldwide business, The Fitz Like A Glove™ Ironing Board Cover And Other Goodies.
I am determined to get my Fitz Like A Glove™ Ironing Board Cover onto as many ironing boards as possible. Because I believe that Victor engineered an ironing board cover that is a dream to iron on. It makes ironing easier. Full. Stop.
I get up every morning with plans as to how I’m going to achieve that dream.
And do nothing but work on it every day until I turn my computer off at the end of the day.
I read business books about getting ahead. Like most people read novels. I’ve lost count of how many I read a week. I do know I’ve run out of space in my farmhouse for bookshelves. So now download business books from Amazon Kindle.
I attend seminars about how to grow my business.
I pay for online courses to advance my goals.
I am obsessed every minute. Of every day. About advancing my business. And making sure my customers love what they purchase. And love their purchasing experience.
It’s why I have 400,000 customers. In 30 countries. With no retail distribution anywhere in the world.
Being obsessed gives me a reason to get up every day. And start the day with a bang.
I can think of no other way to live my life.
