As very young children, we try everything. From tasting shoes. To drinking water out of the toilet. And beyond.
We are totally uninhibited. And don’t know what the word inhibition means.
But as we become socialised. Or civilised. As my mother used to say. We become more reticent to try things.
There are barriers. And boundaries. In place. That we don’t want to break through. Or cross.
As we travel through life, we become more aware of what other people think of us. What they say about us. And how they judge us.
Other people are creating for us – an image of what we should be like. Think. And do.
